Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this solid silver card case featuring a distinctive bright cut engraved design, made by silversmith David Pettifer in Birmingham, 1848.
Needless to mention, the exterior is embellished heavily with an acanthus leaf design that features overlapping leaves that mimics somewhat of a floral/flower design.
A monogrammed cartouche is present on one side of the case with the letters "RH"
The sides are highly polished with a minimalistic scrolled border design. The hinge and lid of the case are in original working condition with a perfectly smooth hinge and tight closure.
The case is fully hallmarked with the maker's mark, date mark (1848), silver lion, Victorian head and the Birmingham assay mark.
An excellent addition for any uncompromising collector both aesthetic display or for practical usage for stylish card storage.
