Description and Details
We are pleased to offer this Georgian silver snuff box made by silversmith Edward Smith in Birmingham, 1819.
The exterior features classic Georgian reeded lines encompassing the entire box with the lid presenting an unmonogrammed cartouche.
Interior-wise, the box is fully gilt with a rich luster and remains in great condition.
Featuring a relatively slender yet rectangular design, this snuff box is ideal for carrying whilst providing ample space for storing larger sized pills/a fair amount of snuff.
The hinge and closure of the box function well with a smooth and secure closure. In hand, the box is an ideal portable size with a quality feel as expected from Birmingham silverware.
The hallmarks are present on both sides of the box however, the marks are worn.
A delightful petit yet classical snuff box ideal for personal usage and storage of pills/snuff/small items or as an addition to a collection.
