Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this superb English silver beaker/cup made by Barnards in London, 1871.
This beaker features a particularly attractive and intricate naturalistic design of large grapevine leaves encompassing the entirety of the exterior.
The interior is fully gilt with a wonderful gold tone which contrasts the exterior shine whilst also providing a layer of protection from the contents held inside from tarnishing the silver.
The high level of craftsmanship and excellence in design sense is vividly presented through the high relief embossing (chased) leaves with finely engraved details of the finer capillaries in the leaves.
With a substantial size in hand, the beaker makes for an excellent ergonomic and practical piece of silverware - ideal for display and for a luxurious experience whilst enjoying your favourite beverage.
The beaker is fully hallmarked on the side at the top with English marks.
There are no leaks with this pair and thus liquids can be held within.
