Antique Victorian Chalcedony Brooch with Seed Pearls 15ct Gold Heart Shaped Cabochon - c.1890

We are delighted to offer this sensational antique Victorian 15ct gold Chalcedony Brooch made c.1890.Fitted in its original antique case/box (included in the price), upon opening a most endearing and eye-catching green Chalcedony heart cabochon sits inside. The bar brooch features a wonderful central heart-shaped section with a bow ribbon on top and a cluster of seed pearls surrounding the central heart. On either side, two larger seed pears accent the edges and draw the eyes to the centre of the brooch. 

Distinctly Victorian and displaying all the signs of fine antique jewellery goldsmithing, this brooch is meticulously made. Each claw, mount and finely shaped setting are impressively fine and intricate; a testament to the goldsmith's skill and craftsmanship of the period. On the reverse side, a C-clasp pin is present: this brooch would most certainly grace a jumper/jacket in the colder seasons and a blouse in the warmer months. Overall, a superb and exemplary piece of enchanting Victorian jewellery, whether as a gift or for a personal collection, this is one of those pieces bound to be a conversation starter and a delightful way to express your passion for fine antiques, design and jewellery.  

The brooch is unmarked as is common with articles of the period and as such we have fully tested for 15ct gold.

Condition: Great antique condition with no issues/damage. One pearl is of a slightly different colour but hardly noticeable from a normal viewing distance.
