We are delighted to offer this magnificent antique Victorian enamel gold ring made c.1860-1880.
This ring exudes a regal and majestic air with its deep royal blue enamelling that contrasts its surrounding antique gold setting, leaving a sumptuous and lasting impression. Its substantial size and weight give a wonderful feel in the hand and upon wearing.
Upon closer inspection, the level of craftsmanship and intricacy can be fully appreciated. The oval curved surface has been decorated with a motif of blue enamel panels, half pearls and an old cut diamond in the centre.
In between each section, an area of gold has been left and hand-engraved with a star - a testament to the fabulous quality and craftsmanship of the Victorian era. One can imagine the amount of time and labour that would have gone into making a single ring and is exemplary of a 'no costs cut' piece of jewellery.
The ring's shank features a lovely floral and foliate decoration which has been further engraved and decorated.
Such a combination of fine goldsmithing, enamelling and engraving makes for an exceptionally stylish choice for antique jewellery lovers. Remarkably, we have found it to also look wonderful on a gentleman's hand owing to its bold size and colours, despite the fact that one may usually expect such designs to lean towards a lady's style.
Whether it be for wearing as a contrasting piece of jewellery among other pieces or as a bold single ring, such a piece is bound to be a conversation starter and a wonderful way to express your passion for fine jewellery and antiques.
A very special ring for a special individual or as an indulgent gift to oneself.
All of our jewellery comes with a complimentary hard shell gift box with a velvet interior.
