Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this unique pair of solid silver Victorian salts made by Robert Hennell in London, 1870.
The pair presents unique Abercorn design - quatrefoil motifs decorated between trellis of grooves. 
One portion within the trellis is left plain for a cartouche that has not been engraved and left blank.
The body of the salt sits upon a widened pedestal foot with beaded decorations around the circumference. 
The interior of each salt is fully gilt with a rich tone of gold, not only contrasting the exterior silver colour but adding a layer of protection from the contents which may tarnish the silver.
Each salt is fully and clearly hallmarked with full English hallmarks on the base underneath the bowl.
