Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this beautiful antique Japanese solid silver condiment pot made during the Meiji era c.1900.
The pot is made with a highly decorative repoussé and chased design of a dragon encompassing the entire outer side of the body.
The body itself presents a hand hammered and finely punched design with many small dots.
The relief of the dragon in comparison to the background is impressive with its head being embossed significantly and the trailing body featuring equally fine embellishments of scales and whiskers.
Silver Japanese fan is for display purposes only and may be purchased separately.
The pot is marked on the base with a "Jun-Gin" signature - the highest grade of silver with 1000/1000 parts (100% solid silver).
A wonderful object with highly decorative and classic Japanese designs, ideal for interiors and collectors wishing to add Oriental influences.
