Description and Details
We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique hand engraved mug made in France during the mid/late 19th Century. The mug has been parcel gilt (top and base separated by a band of silver engravings of floral and foliate motifs).
The interior of the mug is fully gilded with a rich gold tone.
The central cartouche is engraved with a monogram "C".
A Minerva french silver hallmark is present on the side of the mug and the maker's mark is on the base.
The handle of the mug appears to have been repaired/later attached via soldering. This allows for practical use of the mug in the modern-day should you wish to use it to hold your favourite beverages.
A beautiful piece of French 19th C parcel-gilt silverware.
