Description and Details
A French Sevres navy coloured vase mounted with high grade 950 Minerva Silver - Made by Paul Milet c.1900 in the factory his father Felix Optat Milet founded in 1866 at "8 rue Troyon, Sèvres". This exquisite vase presents a bold yet elegant aesthetic design featuring gradations of dark blue/navy colours on the exterior of the vase and a silver gilt mount on the top portion. The mount features a tri-face high relief around the circumference of the mouth in which the beards on the face drape into grape leaves and grapes. The geometric proportions and design on this vase are of the essence and the silver mounting features very fine and intricate engravings/designs. The foot of the vase is equally matched with the same silver mount and the base is marked with Paul Milet's signature mark "MP Sevres" encompassed by dotted circles. The silver mount is fully hallmarked with the 950 Silver Minerva Mark - however, the maker's mark is unidentified.
