We are delighted to offer this magnificent antique French 18ct gold crown/coronet brooch made c.1900.
A quintessential crown/coronet design embodying regality and opulence, even upon a quick glance, this brooch most certainly presents an array of highly desirable and attractive traits fit for royalty.
The brooch is intricately crafted from antique 18ct gold with a silver front in which the gems have been very finely set. The crown is embellished with 9 points & pearls at the top, followed by a row of rubies, emeralds and diamonds. In between each row lies a fabulous array of fine old rose-cut diamonds, graduating in size for each section. A 9-pointed crown/coronet is typically associated with a count/countess in French heraldry.
The silver front allows for the diamonds to sparkle even more and presents a uniform white appearance that twinkles in a chic and splendid way. Due to a slight curvature and the many facets of the rose-cut diamonds, the brooch sparkles in all angles upon wearing and is truly a showstopper.
Whilst splendid in a collection or on display, better yet, this brooch could be worn with a variety of outfits, whether on a special occasion or to an evening party where diamonds would occasionally glisten and come to life under spotlights. Whether it be on a jacket lapel, a stylish blouse in the warmer months or on a one-piece dress for more formal occasions, this brooch would grace and immediately elevate your outfit with a single point of distinguished interest.
A perfect gift for someone very special or as an addition for the discerning antique jewellery lover. This brooch offers a lovely and royal ambience and is a wonderful way to display your passion for distinguished antiques, history and style.
Diamond is known to be the birthstone for April, emeralds for May, pearls for June and rubies for July.
The brooch is marked with French hallmarks of a juxtaposed boar and eagle head, indicating a mount of both gold and silver.
All of our jewellery comes with a complimentary hard shell gift box with a velvet interior.
