Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this ornate solid silver fruit tazza/bowl made by silversmith Charles Westwood & Sons in Birmingham, 1897.
The tazza being made in the late Victorian period, the tazza features an array of ornate and intricate die-stamped and chased motifs.
The top section features four pierced section that contrasts the surrounding embellishments of floral and fruit motifs.
A flared overall design with its relatively accommodating size allows for this tazza to be used for multiple purposes such as for serving cakes, berries of as a luxurious manner of holding fruits on your dining table.
The bowl/dish rests on a widened base and circular neck which provides a stable and steady foundation, allowing for a substantial amount of fruits to be placed on top.
The raised and pierced tazza allows for the light to pass through and the colours of the fruits/contents to be seen from a side profile - this is particularly noticeable should you place the tazza with a dark background, wonderfully contrasting the bright fruitful colours to the monochromatic tone of silver.
Full set of English hallmarks are marked on the side of the tazza.
