Description and Details
This wonderfully pierced solid silver tazza/bowl was made in the Edwardian era by silversmith Colen Hewer Cheshire of Chester in 1906.
The tazza features an array of foliate and floral motifs both in pierced areas and the chased border on the edge. Additionally, each 'section' of the pierced bowl is of a fluted design which combined presents a flower-like shape upon viewing directly from above.
The pierced areas allow for light to shine through and greatly contrasts the areas of silver reflecting back making for an eye-catching piece indeed.
The bowl section rests on top of a flared and fluted base foot which provides a sturdy foundation, allowing for a fair amount of fruits/sweets/content of your choice to be placed within.
Full set of English hallmarks are clearly present on this tazza.
The tazza most certainly presents an elegant aesthetic charm to its design and would grace a dining table as a display piece for interior design or alternatively as a practical piece of silverware in order to enjoy an indulging experience of serving your favourite treats in a piece of fine antique silverware.
