Description and Details

This lovely solid silver scenic mug was made by silversmith Nathan & Hayes of Chester in 1904.

The mug's highlighting feature is unquestionably the embossed scene of a countryside view with multiple figures taking part in jovial rural activities that one may see in the countryside.

The details presented in the chased and embossed scene is quite impressive with a good amount of clarity and definition in the features considering its small scale.

Solid Silver Scenic Mug

Equally matched is the overall quality and gauge of silver used to create this piece of silverware - despite its dainty size, in hand, the mug has quite a solid build and feel to it.

The interior is also fully gilt with an indulging and rich gold plating which not only contrasts the exterior tone but adds a layer of protection from the contents oxidising and corroding the silver.

Full set of English hallmarks are present on the side of the mug.

With an unengraved surface and a leak-free condition, this mug would be ideal for christening gifts or as a lovely addition to your collection, whether it be for display or usage.

  • Practical and usable silver mug with no leaks.
  • Unusual countryside scene with a high relief embossed design.
