A Victorian Solid Silver Wine Ewer/Jug Baluster Form - Henry Holland 1867

We are delighted to offer this wonderful Victorian solid silver wine ewer/jug made in the year 1867 by silversmith Henry Holland of London.

The exterior features a beautiful baluster form with a sleek and tall profile. The neck of the ewer extends to a flared spout with a weighted lid and a vine leaf finial on top. 

The handle features a swan-neck form with a small thumbpiece on the top for additional support. 

The body of the ewer presents an array of intricately hand engraved patterns and motifs that pleasantly splay across the entirety of the body's surface. A blank cartouche is present in the middle of the body.

The interior of the ewer is gilded and remains in excellent condition with no leaks or issues. 

The overall finish and quality of this ewer are very good which is evermore apparent in hand - the perfectly rounded sides of the body and the contrasting engravings to the high polish exterior makes for an eye-pleasing and aesthetically ideal piece. 

Full English hallmarks are present on the side of this ewer.
