Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this beautiful and rare solid silver Victorian hip flask made by Alfred Taylor, Birmingham 1862.The entire flask is beautifully crafted and formed from a fantastic gauge of thick silver and has a very sturdy and satisfying feel in hand. Unlike most counterpart silver hip flasks, this flask was made in the mid-Victorian era and features a fully solid silver base cup and original top chain. The bottom cup can be detached and used to pour whiskey (or beverages of your choice) and drink in an opulent and stylish manner as opposed to straight out the top. The interior of the cup is gilt (gold lining) which not only looks fabulous with whiskey but prevents the silver from tarnishing. The top lid retains its original cork and is fastened to the body of the flask with a silver chain preventing misplacement or losing the lid. A fantastic piece of portable Victorian silverware made in the most desirable quality and design - ideal for collectors whether it be for display, usage or part of interior decor.
Full English hallmarks are present at the base of the cup, with matching marks on the inner base of the flask and the opposite side of the cup.
