Description and Details 

This Victorian solid silver snuff box was made by silversmith Taylor & Perry in Birmingham, 1841. Featuring a minimalistic and thin profile design, this box is an ideal addition to those who wish to use it on the go for pills/snuff/etc.

The exterior features a classic engine-turned motif on the lid and base which is complemented with reeded lines on the side of the box. Contrastingly, the interior is gilt with a glossy gold plate further adding to the vivid Victorian aesthetic design. 

The hinge and closure of the box function perfectly with a smooth and tight closure upon shutting. The fine thumb-piece adjacent to the lid is also very practical with the thin design of the box, allowing the user to open the lid with ease. 

The snuff box is fully hallmarked with a Victorian head, maker's mark, date mark "S" - 1841, silver lion and Birmingham anchor.

Condition

Excellent Condition - The box is in excellent condition considering the object is over 100 years old - please bear in mind the item is antique and shows slight signs of surface wear. There is one very small pinprick dent in the lid which is visible depending on the angle. Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail. (We ensure to take photos of the faults most visibly – the issues will likely appear less significant seen by the human eye).
