Description and Details
This solid silver guilloché enamel cigarette case was made by F B Reynolds in Glasgow, 1926.
Featuring a single-sided blue enamel finish on the lid with a contrasting silver engine turned back, this cigarette case presents a wonderful balance between both silver and enamel work. The guilloche motif extends in a wavy pattern from the centre outwards and glistens well upon reflecting light at different angles.
The interior is fully gilt (gold plate) which adds another dimension of tone to the overall aesthetic whilst also providing a layer of protection from the silver being oxidised/tarnished from whatever contents may be placed within. An original place holder is also present in the interior, ideal for holding cigarettes/small items inside.
The hinge and locking mechanism works perfectly with a smooth and trustworthy closure.
The case is fully hallmarked with clear stamps on the interior.
A perfect sleek and aesthetically pleasing case to carry any small objects with yourself on the go and to display the beautiful enamelwork at home.
