Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this majestic set of three solid silver gilt Victorian dishes made by John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater, London 1892. All three dishes have been profusely chased with superb embossing and crisp decorations of flowers, leaves and scroll motifs.
The centre of the dish is monogrammed with two interlocking "C" and an Earl's coronet on top (a five-point crown/coronet). Unfortunately, owing to a lack of mottos, crests or coat of arms, we were unable to attribute to whom these dishes belonged, however, it is probable that it was the property of an English Earl of the 19th Century. In addition to the elaborate ornamentations, the dishes are fully gilt in a magnificent bright gold tone that presents a stunning lustre and most certainly contrasts its surroundings.
Due to the large and accommodating size of the dishes, in addition to a rich display piece, they may be used practically to serve a variety of food such as fruits, bread, cakes or your preferred choice.
The trio is fully hallmarked with clear English marks on the reverse side.
An excellent addition for a luxurious dining experience whether be it for display or usage with food of your choice.
