Exceptional Georgian Silver Coffee Pot with Ornate Chasing - J.Wrangham & W.Moulson 1836

We are pleased to offer this Georgian solid silver chased coffee pot made by silversmith J.wrangham & W.Moulson in London, 1836.

The exterior is embellished with ornate floral embossing and acanthus-styled scroll chasings and features a "morning glory" flower finial on the lid-top. The lid has a solid and smooth hinge attached to the body.

The swan-necked spout extends from the body of the pot and features a stippled design on the base of the spout.

Unmonogrammed cartouches are present on both sides of the pot, making it an ideal gift if one wishes to engrave a personalised name.

The handle equally matches the embellishments with further chasing and an acanthus leaf thumbpiece. The insulators are intact and original, however, there are some minor hairlines (as expected on pieces of this age).

The interior is clean with a very large volume capacity of approximately 1.5 litres.

The pot is fully hallmarked on the handle, base and lid with all matching parts. (Date, maker, silver lion, Georgian head, London assay).

An excellent piece of silverware with an exceptional aesthetic presence and practical size.
