Description and Details
This Victorian solid silver mustard/condiment pot was made by silversmith Alexander Macrae of London in 1866.
The pot is chased with an ornate and lovely 'Abercorn' design which may be ideal for completing and complementing with other pieces of the same motifs as a set.
The interior is gilded with signs of potential re-gilding/later gilding.
The lid and thumbpiece function well and the hinge remains in smooth working order.
The cartouche in the centre has been engraved with a crest.
The pot may be used for any condiments of your preference whether be it mustard, salt, sugar etc - a wonderful little addition to get creative with some fine silver dining ware.
A unique and dainty piece of victorian silverware, ideal for those looking for an example of an Abercorn chased motif.
The pot has been fully hallmarked on the side.
