We are delighted to offer this amusing and novel example of a Victorian solid silver sugar tong/nips. It was imported by Berthold Muller in Chester 1901. 
The tongs are formed in the shape of a harlequin with fine figural detailing.
The pair functions in a similar manner to scissors whereby the user will 'pinch' some sugar (or cubes nowadays) to use for sweetening tea etc.
Whilst the tongs are collectable in their own right for displays, one may additionally wish to use them practically to enjoy a luxurious yet slightly humorous afternoon tea.
Full English hallmarks are present on the tips of the tongs (import mark for Chester 1901).

Condition
Good Condition - The tongs are in great antique condition with no issues or damage. Some slight surface wear on high points as expected with age. Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail.
