Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this quality pair of Georgian solid silver salt cellars made by Joseph Felix Podio in London, 1809.
The pair features a plain exterior finish with a mirror-like surface, with one hand engraved family crest and motto on the front of each salt.
The crest is for the Maunsell family and the motto reads "Honantes Me Honorabo".
The interior of the salts are gilt with a wonderful rich gold tone with a slightly yellow hue, which not only serves an aesthetic purpose but protects the silver from tarnishing/damage from the contents that may be placed within.
The pair are fully hallmarked with clear English marks and remain in great condition.
An excellent addition for a luxurious dining experience whether be it for display or usage with salt/condiments of your choice.
