Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this wonderful Art Nouveau solid silver mug made in London, 1903.
Skillfully crafted during the popularity of Art Nouveau, this Edwardian mug features an elegant and intricate design of a plain and minimalist base with a beautifully chased floral design on both sides.
The handle is also applied in an Art Nouveau fashion with its terminals designed as leaves that wonderfully complement the overall aesthetics of this mug.
The interior of the mug is fully gilt with a rich and lustrous gold-tone which not only contrasts the external silver-tone well but also adds a layer of protection from the contents oxidising the silver.
The front of the mug is not engraved/monogrammed and thus is ideal for presentation or should you wish, for adding your own personal engravings (e.g. as a christening mug).
Full set of English hallmarks are marked on the side of the mug, however, the marks are rubbed.
