Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this superb English solid silver inkstand made by Carrington & Co in London, 1903.
Carrington & Co are considered as one of London's important silversmiths receiving the royal warrant (Royal Silversmith) from none less than Queen Victoria, Prince Albert, Edward VII and George V.
This inkstand has been meticulously crafted in the form of a Scallop shell with the base holding a glass liner and the top serving as a hinged lid.
The elegant aesthetics in addition to the fine engravings make for a distinct and splendid piece of silverware that may grace a writing desk.
This inkstand remains in great antique condition with the glass liner intact with no chips/damage.
A set of full English hallmarks are present on the inkstand.
Overall a wonderfully decorative yet practical piece of silverware that may be used with present-day ink pens, or as an ornamental display in your home.
