We are delighted to offer this stunning hand-chased high-relief solid silver card case made in Birmingham in 1857 with the mark of Aston & Son.The card case features an exemplary level of chasing craftsmanship in a small form factor with the entire panel being profusely decorated with foliate scrolls and floral motifs. 

The high relief created by the chasing along with its ornate fluid-scrolled design truly distinguished itself from counterpart card cases and captivates the sense, both visually and physically. Even upon a quick glance, the crisp edges of the scrolled leaves contrast the finely stippled background to create a '3D' effect and upon holding the card case, one can feel where the silver has been intricately raised.

One can imagine the amount of skill, patience and care that has gone into crafting and embellishing a single small object with the amalgamation of each decorative technique resulting in a quality feel when held in hand.
