Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this wonderful set of four solid silver Georgian salts made by the Barnards in London, 1837.
The set consists of four equally symmetrical and embellished salt dishes/cellars with four finely cast and engraved feet, a mirror-like midsection and a chased decorative top circular border.
The intricacy of each piece despite its small size is impressive with crisp and defined embellishments presenting the high degree of craftsmanship and care taken to create such wonderful silverware.
The top border is chased in the form of a foliate wreath with an aesthetically pleasing form that may be admired from the top/side.
The interior of each salt is fully gilt with a lustrous and rich gold tone that not only contrasts the exterior silver colour but adds a layer of protection from the contents which may tarnish the silver.
Each salt is fully and clearly hallmarked with full English hallmarks on the base underneath the bowl.
A wonderful set for those wishing to acquire a highly embellished and decorative suite of salts whether be it for usage with a variety of condiments on a magnificent dining table or as part of interior decor.
