Description and Details
This porcelain snuff box was most likely made in Germany during the 18th century - a period in which porcelain snuffs were most commonly made and used.
The exterior features hand painted floral designs with roses in the centre, contrasted by the vibrant pinkish red background with gold accents. The porcelain is mounted on a metal bracket which has been painted in gold. The interior is further decorated with wildflower designs both on the inside base and lid.
Upon holding the box, one can appreciate its substantial size accompanied by the curvature of the sides widening towards the base. The hinge and closure of the lid function flawlessly with a smooth closure in addition to a tight fit of the lid.
An ornate German table porcelain snuff box, ideal for an addition to a box/German antique display collection.
