Description and Details
We are pleased to offer this intricately designed silver snuff box made by silversmith Owen & Boon in Birmingham, 1856.
The exterior lid and base feature fully embellished acanthus motifs which have been hand engraved very finely, resulting in an intricate and aesthetically pleasing design. The cartouche in the centre of the lid has been monogrammed.
Interior-wise, the box has a fully gilt interior that pleasantly contrasts the brilliant silver tone on the exterior in addition to providing a layer of protection from the silver reacting with the contents inside the box.
Featuring a rather sleek profile, this snuff box is an ideal box for portability and carrying small items on the go, whether be it pills, snuff or consumables.
In hand, a compact yet quality feel is present with the hinge and closure of the lid functioning perfectly with a smooth and tight closure.
The box is fully hallmarked with clears markings on both the base and lid of the box.
