Description and Details
We are delighted to offer this Georgian solid silver tobacco/snuff box made by James Phipps I (London) c.1770.
The box is of circular form with a single hinged lid and is well crafted with a sturdy gauge of silver.
The top lid features a hand-engraved coat of arms of two families, most likely engraved to celebrate either marriages or partnerships between two families.
The box has a fine minimalist elegance to its overall aesthetic design with a lovely patina and antique colouration.
The box is only hallmarked with the makers mark I.P for James Phipps I of London.
A wonderful classic Georgian piece of silverware remaining in excellent antique condition despite being over 200 years old.
