Description and Details
This Victorian silver card case was made by silversmith George Unite in Birmingham 1885.
The exterior features a unique floral motif which has a tessellating (repeating) pattern on both sides of the case.
The cartouche on one side of the case is unmonogrammed and is clean. The external borders feature a curved and scrolled lining which aids in gripping the case in addition to its aesthetic design.
The card case has a few dents and indentations, depending on the angle the case's face appears to be slightly recessed from the borders and there is a small area next to the hinge where a minor split is present.
The case's hinge is smooth but slightly loose with a good closure of the lid.
The case is fully hallmarked with the maker's mark, Birmingham assay, silver lion, Victorian head and the date mark.

Condition
Antique Condition - Please bear in mind the item is antique and may show signs of surface wear. There are two dents on the border of the rear side and the face appears to have some rough areas as photographed. Depending on the lighting, these flaws are not apparent. Please refer to the photographs to examine the condition in further detail.
